For the past year my Windows 8 laptop has been woefully slow (for example 30 secs to open Task Manager) and is almost unusable. I have checked for malware, viruses, removed every program I don't need, defragmented, emptied temp files, completed a factory reset, removed extra Acer 'Utilities' etc. Nothing has helped!
If I use other programs such as Word, PowerPoint etc then they invariably end up unresponsive and have to be shut down and restarted; normally to just repeat the process. I have noticed that even with no programs open I am using around 80-99% CPU usage.
I am at the end of my patience, if I don't get it fixed by the end of the month I am going to part with £900 for a MacBook as I am absolutely fed up with Windows.
RAM - 4 Gb
CPU - AMD A4-1250 APU with Radeon HD Graphics
Operating System - Windows 8 (64 Bit)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
