Windows 8 - Keyboard does not work in browsers

No development :-(
I open Microsoft excel and this is what I see
Same with MSWord also
excel has detected you are holding down the control key do you want to start it in safe mode
Spent more than 6 hours on this issue.. Have an assignment to do. Service desk guy says it is because of the moisture! If it is because of the moisture, how can it work for 10 minutes everytime!
Guys, can you help me with more solutions ..

Ok Can You leave only 1 language installed on your keyboard?
Hey and try pressing ctrl+shift it will reset the keyboard.

I tried everything else possible
Still no use
I tried the following things
Set the language to US only and delete all other languages
Disable touch pad
Disable sticky keys
Run in safe mode
Closing and opening the on_screen keyboard
running chkdsk
all drivers are uptodate>
I am yet to figure out the solution>
The problem I understand is there is some key like Ctrl or Shift that is being automatically pressed

The highlighted part in above quote shows quite clearly that you have an issue with your keyboard, a physical issue. CTRL key is stuck. There's no other solution than to fix the keyboard or to get a new one; no setting or registry entry can fix a stuck key.

Thanks Kari. I assumed the attached USB keyboard would override that, but I see now it doesn't. And I guess there's no system speaker constant warning beep for such on some systems?
