Windows 8 cannotaccess Apps store
Am using an Asusdesktop computer with Windows 8 preinstalled and have been unable to access Windows Store inorder to update to Windows 8.1 Keep getting, We weren't able to connect to the store. This might havehappened because of a server problem or network connection...
Have spent many hours following suggestions from theMicrosoft Community and other links but all without success. Then as a last resort, even tried Restoreand that did not get me into the Store.
While trying the many suggestions, I removed my AVG internetsecurity and used Windows Defender and Windows firewall...where I found somethings that made me think I may have a virus or malware. Under the list of Allowed Apps I found these.

Have tried Trojan Remover, Malware bytes, tdsskiller andothers but nothing has been found.
Can someone help me please.

Did you install all of the updates for Windows 8? If not when you go to the store you won't see windows 8.1.

Thanks for your reply. :thumb:
I finally gave up and ran windows 8 system refresh.
downloaded all the required updates over 2 sessions ( took about 5 hours)
This got me into windows store, then updated all required apps.
Finally the windows 8.1 upgrade appeared in the store
Downloaded the upgrade and installed (took about 3.5 hours)
I now have a "like new" computer and am re-installing the programs/Apps that were removed during Refresh.
Appreciate your taking the time to respond.

The Refresh was not as tough Renew so if you have a problem refresh is certainly the way to go.

I consider this post as resolved.
