Windows 8 become suddenly inactivated

Hi everyone,

I upgraded my Windows from 7 to 8 pro using the 40$ offer and it worked like a charm : )
Unfortunately, today my room-mate tried to install a cracked version of Microsofot Office 365 and he ruined my computer. My windows 8 become inactive and the Windows keeps asking me to activate it.
I saw a lot of soltion for the error code 0xC004F074 here and all of them require the product key which I do not have.


Please help me

I have a spare computer with Windows 8 Pro that was activated and upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate. It seems like I only use it every so often to stay current with the Microsoft updates. Today I suddenly get a message telling me to activate my computer as my key is being used on another computer and that is definitely not true! I had to go through the phone activation procedure, nine sets of 7 digits read, 8 sets of 6 digits entered and all is well again.

Could this have caused the de-activation, I turned the power off when MS told me not to turn the power off? In my defense that screen was up for more than a half hour and there was no visible activity. Maybe it was Microsoft's punishment for not doing what it told me to do.
