Windows 8.1 pro build 9600 product key problem

hi! my laptop is running on windows 8.1 pro build 9600. it prompts me to activate the OS so i enter my product key but it says that my product key doesn't work. i also tried using the SHOWKEY.vbs one admin recommended but it still doesn't work. it there any other way to activate it? please help me soon.

Need more info. What caused your PC to show it was not activated? Did you just recently reinstall Windows 8.1 for some reason. If its an OEM embedded key and its for the Core edition it will not work in the Pro edition.

Download above program - you can check your product key and it will tell you the version of windows it is for..

You have Pro install and the product key you have, may not be a Pro key
