Group policy is easy to change the lock screen "Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization" but the problem with changing to a corporate logo is that we have about 4 different monitor sizes in our environment. Does anyone know how to put one image type that will auto resize or a GPO object that will tell win8.1 to resize to fit? I remember reading and trying to make them fit for windows 8 and it was crazy renaming and resizing the files to fit. Any fix for win8.1?

Hi and welcome to the Eight Forums.

I do not understand your point? You change the lock screen background image normally and it scales automatically. See the tutorial here: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2639-lock-screen-background-image-change-windows-8-a.html

Option Two in above mentioned tutorial shows how to change te lock screen background image in Windows 8.1.

Examples of scaling, the same image in various size lock screens (click to enlarge):

Ok, again it's easy to set the lock screen in various ways. I mentioned that in my original post. Also, it's easy to set the group policy to a certain image (which is what I have done for all our win 8.1 boxes. The problem is that you can only select ONE image in the group policy, and if that image is not same resolution as all win 8.1 boxes then some get chopped and some have borders. The only way I can see to set exact size is to classify each win 8.1 box and make a different OU with correct size. That's a crazy idea. any other ideas?

If forcing a certain lock screen image through Group Policy prevents it resizing to meet display resolution it is most probably because the policy (set image) overrides the default lock screen image settings.

However, what you want to achieve is quite easy to do by changing the default lock screen to your customized image (tutorial), then changing the group policy to prevent users changing the lock screen image and lock screen slide show. Do not enable Force specific default lock screen image :

Now you have a customized lock screen image which scales correctly and which users cannot change.

Well, this is unfortunate. We utilize constantly updating backgrounds and thus require the "Force Specific Default Lock Screen" as to be able to set the location for it to always use, which is in turn updated by GPO to place the file there. This worked perfectly in windows 7, though sometimes would resize and not look perfect, it still didn't chop off whole sections of our image.. There is simply no reason I can comprehend why this would not have options to do what it did before.
