I have redirected my user folders to a second hard drive. I'm doing a clean install of Windows 8.1. If I redirect my user folders in the new install to the folders on the existing drive that already have data in them, will that data remain intact or will the redirecting process overwrite or clear out the data in those folders?
I'll be doing the redirect before there's any new data in the new default folders so no data will need to be copied to the new location.
I just want to know if I'm OK to leave the existing data on the second drive or if I need to back it up soemwhere and then put it back in after the redirect (my data is all backed up off-site anyway, it would just be convenient not to have to move it).
I'm downgrading from Windows 10 fwiw.
Thanks
