Sashah, what will you do if the hard drive dies?
Make the backup if you can, otherwise get an external hard drive and create an image backup so you can recover from a hard drive failure.

I do have an external hard drive but have never made an image backup. I back up all my documents and pictures once a week but have never bothered with the programs etc. That is because I have always had original disks for the OS and Office. Everything else I download and reconfigure myself. This time however, you are right... no disk for Windows 8 because it came preinstalled. Hmmm.. now to find out how to make and image backup.

That is a threat to every PC user, regardless of the number of drives/partitions on their PC.

XP Era Programs
Do you run any old software on your PC?
Some XP era programs may recreate the moved folders (Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos) in your User folder. :shock:
If you notice that your Documents folder is being recreated in your User folder, you may want to read this thread:

I have not kept any old programs - just wanted a new clean computer without old baggage. I have not yet taken steps to have My Documents etc. use D drive yet but will when I have a few uninterrupted hours to concentrate and play around. I did find an interesting website on the topic though which may help others.
