The price of the iPhone here in the states was the same price as the Samsung GS3.

Actually, iPhone 5 is not officially launched in India yet. It's scheduled to be released 23rd October here. Guess Apple chose that date as W8 release is on 26th.

I'm sure iPhone 5 is gonna be costlier than the SIII by at least 100 USD (In India). iPhone 4S is close to SIII in price.
