Hi.
I have a Dell E5530 using windows 8.1 Been using laptop for 5+ months.
For the first time today, I clicked the Camera panel and received msg

“Connect a Camera”.

Ran Dell PC diagnostics, no errors were found.
I do not have a Imaging Device folder (that stores the Webcam) in Device Manager.
Installed Dell Webcam Central, but when launched, I get msg
"Please plug in a supported device" I am not able to run this application either.

Any suggestions.

Do I need to load any Webcam drivers for win 8?

TC.

Isn't there something called "Youcam" installed? It wold have been installed by Dell as an APP, not MS. On every Dell laptop Ive ever had, that program has always been installed.

Check your Desktop, or go into "all apps" on your Start Screen and look for "Youcam" - If it is there, use that instead.

Hi.

Could not find Youcam apps on my Dell computer.

Just one note: My problem is with the built-in camera located on the Camera tile for win 8.
Message just states "Connect to Camera" and nothing else shows.

Went to Bios and Camera is enabled.

Thanks.
TC.
