Hi,
three weeks ago my hp/win7 laptop died and I bougth a new sony/win8 one. I chose this one also to try the new OS, but I encountered several problems, such as two crash (with data loss) in three weeks and, most importantly, the impossibility to install two important apps I use for work.
So, unfortunately, I'm now forced to reinstall win7, and here I found the majority of my problems: I followed all the tutorial of this and seven forums but I always encountered problem in the clean installation of windows 7.
I tried several 64 bit .iso files but the installation stops at the first black screen with "starting windows" and the logo.
When trying a 32 bit version instead of a 64x one the installation starts, but I cannot proceed beyond the selection of the partition to install the new OS because (of course) a 32bit version is not accepted to be installed in a gtp formatted partition as the one where windows8 is now installed.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance!
Ps:
of course I disabled the secure boot option, tried booting from both usb and dvd, changed .iso file several times, modified the folders as described here http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/15458-uefi-bootable-usb-flash-drive-create-windows.html (step 11) etc... the only think I didn't try (at least between the ones that came in my mind) is to convert the gtp partition to ntfs to install a 32bit version. This because I'd like to install a 64x one to maintain the advantages of the uefi firmware (and to miantain a bit of honour). Thanks again!
pps
of course I can't simply downgrade because I do not have the windows8 Pro version..
