Solved Unable to reset windows 8 to factory

I have a newer Samsung laptop with windows 8 along with a system recovery cd, but no
matter what I do I am unable to restore it to factory. I am able to perform the reset, but
all of my original settings are still there. I would appreciate any help. I'm pretty sure I
have some sort of virus.

if that is the case your system is using a customrefresh.wim and not the needed istall.wim

right click > command prompt > run as admin then type

reagentc /info

post the results by using the snipping tool

Reset Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 from within Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

6. If you have Windows 8 or Windows RT

A) Click/tap on General on the left side, click/tap on the Get started button under the Remove everything and reinstall Windows section on the right side, and go to step 7 below. (see screenshot below)​

7. If prompted by UAC, then click/tap on Yes.

I have done it that way several times. I just downloaded "show hidden" and there is a list that shows
several hundred hidden files on my computer. One of the problems when I have reset windows 8 is
that my Internet Explorer settings are still the same. When I was just now looking thru the hidden files
several have to do with internet explorer and soooo many to me are normal type files that should not
be hidden. Any suggestions? It's like my computer has a bad virus that I am unable to remove.

p.s. I really think there are issues also with my hard drive partitions. I just ran "list parts"
and there are items that don't look right.

One of the problems when I have reset windows 8 is that my Internet Explorer settings are still the same.
