Hi
I have never used 'Bluetooth' before.
I want to transfer a file between my laptop and Android tablet.
I turned Bluetooth 'on' (which I have installed the latest driver) on my W8.1 laptop.
I turned Bluetooth 'on' on my Android 4.1.1 tablet.
I had my laptop search for 'Bluetooth' devices, but my tablet is never found.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thanks

Most times the laptop Blue Tooth is only for Keyboard and mouse. Not for connecting to devices. Just connect via USB cord.

oh, ok, I didn't know that.
I should add, though, that my laptop did find my brother's mobile to pair.
Thanks

Is there "Make device discoverable" or something like that an the tablet's BT menu ?.

No, I don't see that.
I was trying to transfer a file by bluetooth because when I first tried to connect (a few months back) my tablet to my laptop for the very first time, the laptop had not started properly (which I did not realize) so the drivers were not installed properly and from then could not get the tablet to connect.
I have recently updated to 8.1 update 1 and thought I would try connecting the tablet again.
It worked!
I will connect by usb from now on.
