I have an old Laserjet 1012 that works on Windows 7 using Microsoft's Laserjet 3055 PCL driver. On Windows 8 when I select Add A Printer a Window open but after a moment there is a message that no printers were found.

How can I access the printer driver that worked for Windows 7 so that I might give it a try?

u have to understand almost all hardware work with drivers..when u dont have to install driver yourself that means that windows wanted to make your life easy and itegrated the driver in the OS/Updates..
look for the driver manually and install

Today, a solution for your printer is not available for Windows 8. However, a driver update will be available in late 2012.

I think I found the solution to adding Lasetjet models 1010, 1012 or 1015 to windows 8. A member of Notebook Review's forum posted instructions.

I did have to select a USB port because the DOT4 port was not available for some reason.

I bookmarked this, so it probably worked before. But now it doesn't. It doesn't work. Also I don't have a DOT4 or an USB option appearing...

Edit:
Mega fail... I didn't have the printer connected.

By the way is anyone else experiencing abnormally slow printing? I probably didn't do something correctly, because it worked faster in the previous windows instance. (It was also slow before that...)

Didn't anyone experience slow printing?
Should I try something else instead of dot4?
