I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 running Windows 8.1, and I am having major typing lag in the built-in mail program. Lenovo wants me to send my entire unit in for repair, but since this is obviously a software problem, I'm hoping that somebody here can help me.
The problem occurs with all possible input methods -- Bluetooth keyboard, USB keyboard, and onscreen keyboard. It happens with almost any email that has more than 100-150 characters on the screen (including quoted replies). I am a reasonably fast typist (50-60 WPM), and with external keyboards I can type whole paragraphs before they appear on the screen, making the mail program totally unusable. (The problem is less noticeable with the onscreen keyboard, but I can even type faster on there than the system can handle). As far as I can tell, this issue is limited only to the Mail program, so it doesn't seem to be the fault of wimpy specs or faulty hardware.
I should also say that I have updated all drivers using Lenovo's built-in diagnostics tool, and that I have tried deleting and re-installing the mail/calendar/people app bundle.
I have made a video of the problem. Since I don't know if this forum allows posting of external links, I will post a link in a separate response to this query.
Any help you might have would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonathan
