Hello All,

Recently the text on all my windows title bars is messed up. It doesn't show the name of the window, it shows a bunch of dashed lines as follows:

I went to Personalization->Display and I when I try to change the title bar text the menu is empty:

Any idea how I can fix this?

Thank you,

Jan

I see in your picture, that you do not have the the small box checked "Let me choose....etc"??

Unless that is marked, you will not have access to the lists.

You can try from Control Panel:

EDIT: If it does not work then either some font files are missing or corrupted. You would have to restore to C:\Windows\fonts

@DaveHC & David.
On this screen, it also depends on the display capability of the Monitor you are using.
David, I look at your spec, your screen resolution is 1366 X768 so when you check on: Let me choose....", you can only have 2 choices: 100% & 125%
Both my displays have screen resolution of 1920X1200, so I have 4 choices: 100%, 125%, 150% and Extra Large - 200%.

Back to the OP's question, I still think his C:\Windows\fonts folder is missing some fonts or corrupted

I notice in your picture that the Title Bar options are not available like mine when the box is checked.

What you saw on the screen is what Windows think it will fit with the monitor resolution. Of course, you can customize it but it won't look pretty ie. part of the screen won't be displayed.
