The term "smartphone" makes no sense.

It's strange, because when you do think about WHAT you do on such a device, phoning isn't really one of the top tasks overall. It's used like Windows, install a lot of apps, browse a lot of internet, customizing, and IM'ing. Baby PC. Handheld PC.

But most laptops I use don't really overheat unless they're older ones with clogged up heatsinks. After a thorough disassembly and cleaning out, they run real cool. I usually always cross my legs too when using one sitting down just to provide some surface area for air to pass.

My 9100 is big and fat, the battery is HUGE! 12-cells and I get about an hour and a half life from it. Running on battery, it's OK but when it is plugged in, it gets hotter than Hell. When I stick it on a table, it's better. Lately I have had to put a towel on my knees though. I love it cos it has all kinds of Firewire, 5 USB, and a DVI port. And one of the first Wireless G cards built in. My OS is corrupt though, my LCARS does not totally work, the start menu links don't work.
