Getting it still

After 7 days, it comes back.

I installed Microsofts WDDM driver for the display, should I install Toshibas aswell?

Leave the drivers as they are until we figure out what's going on here.

I am fairly confident that this is a driver problem - and I suspect that it's the
PEGAGFN.sys Wed Aug 5 01:50:46 2009 (4A791DB6)

How do I uninstall a driver? Do I just uninstall the software?

You figure out which program or device that the driver belongs to - then you uninstall that.

There are other ways, but that is the safest way.

I have done that. Last night my laptop froze and I had to replug the battery in. Could that be a sign of a hardware/driver error?

If possible, please also:
- open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx

Update

Heres the events. I just uninstalled java and will reinstall it later if its the cause.

I gave up in fixing it, I did a system refresh and its fine now.

I have a theory, could it be the windows update failure, since it crashed in the middle of a windows update.

I'm getting this problem too but only on my Windows 8 Desktop (My Windows Vista Laptop doesn't have this problem). When I first noticed it, I thought Polkast (A DLNA Server application) might be the culprit (It always insists on forcing Windows 8 into Desktop mode when it boots up & bringing itself to the forefront instead of simply starting in the background like all the other applications do). So I tried uninstalling it. Didn't work

I know this because MINUTES LATER it happened again. So I decided to run Malware Bytes to see if it was Malware related. It wasn't however Malware Bytes did find a couple AdWare items which I removed

I'm just about at my wits end on this one.....
