Store Apps: No small icons (just rectangles)

Hi,

wherever a Windows Store app shows a small icon (in search and on the "All Apps" screen), the actual icon is missing:

Capture.PNG

The larger icons on the actual start screen show up. Re-installing the apps does not help, and the icons of desktop apps show up.

What can I do to fix this issue?

Best,
Felix

Unluckily, nothing that applies to my situation did help.
(I'm not going to refresh my PC.)

No corruption found in that?

Quite honestly I've never seen this before, especially when desktop apps icons show. Weird indeed.

Have you made changes to your system lately? new app(s) or anything?

Did you try a Restore Point?

The Repair Tool fixed the "All Apps" screen, but not the search results. Interesting...

Did you reboot after? Try a power reset. Shutdown, unplug from wall socket, take out battery, then push the start button 5-10 seconds so all electricity is out of laptop. Then hook everything back up and boot.

I have an internal battery that cannot be taken out. I can only disable it in software, I'll try that.

Have you tried cleaning your search history in PC settings>Search and apps>Search>clear( or use Ccleaner (MS search ticked) if you have it?

The only other thing I can think of is; have you searched for something, clicked it, let it start, close it, search for it again and see if the icon corrects itself.
