Startup error sounds until WIA services stopped?

When I start up my computer, it loops an error sound over and over again, but with no error on-screen message. I have determined that when I go into services.msc and shut down the Windows Image Acquisition service, that makes the error noise stop - but then of course my scanner stops working.

What should I do to resolve this? Why would the WIA service be involved with a startup continual error sound with no on-screen message? Does the WIA service need to be fixed and is there I was for me to do that?

Thanks.

WIA is a manager. You need to find out what the culprit is that is causing errors. That means it is the Scanner driver/software is what is causing the problem. WIA started to be used in Windows ME as a way of managing imaging hardware IRQ's.

Information on the service and why it is used as a device manager for imaging hardware.
