The search setting is already on the start screen. Just open start and type. It's just that simple.

Your search window will open along with huge numbers of drop down selections.. Type whatever your are searching in the text box.

It's categorized and title specific. Search is compartmentalized. To direct it to the appropriate area you just mouse click the offerings.

Search is also easily available from charms. Place the mouse arrow upper right corner.

Further there are keystrokes to search. Win key + W. Win key + F.

I appreciate that there are tinkers who want to reinvent the wheel but Win 8 already has half a dozen ways to search !

:winkey: (brings up the start screen) then just type your search term which opens the search bar with your search term in it. It could not be more simple.

thats better i used the download :) , because no matter how hard i tried i could'nt find the search.scf in system32 folder , it seems mine is missing!! Even after revealing hidden files and folders it still isnt there!

I couldn't find it anywhere in C:\...........

So, you have a shortcut now ?

Yes mate I used the download provided in your link for the zipped shorcut. Copied it to taskbar and its working fine :)
