Solved Sharing Programs with Homegroup Users

Microsoft Office and Student 2010 is avaiable only to the administrator. How do you make it available to other members of the Windows 8 Homegroup?

Hello botageous, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Programs can only be used by users on the local PC that the program was installed on. Other PCs on the Homegroup would need to have the programs installed on it as well.

Thanks Brink but I am talking about the users in the Homegroup on the same PC.

In that case, you or they should be able to create shortcuts to the .exe files of these programs in their accounts for them to use to open the program.

The tutorial below can help show you how to create a shortcut, but the .exe files will be at wherever the program was installed to. Programs are usually installed in a folder (name after program) in the "C:\Program Files" folder.
