Help. My desktop is running Windows XP Pro and my Laptop is running Windows 8.1. I've created a share folder that is recognized by both computers and transferring files from the XP system to the 8.1 Laptop is iffy at best. For EXAMPLE: I create an .mp4 file and a .wav file on the XP computer and both go into the share folder. I open the same share folder on the 8.1 Laptop and there are the files. The .mp4 file moves or copies just fine onto the Laptops desktop but try as I may, the .wav file will neither copy or move onto the 8.1 Laptop giving the dreaded "You need permission...." message. Now tell me, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Do I need permission from GOD or my mother or from the wacko's at Microsoft for permission to move these files or what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
What I've been doing now is simply copying non-movable files onto a large flash drive and then transferring them over to the Laptop.
The Microsoft Group needs a serious reboot in my opinion. Never a day goes by without something getting in the way of my computer using sanity, and I've been with MS from the very beginning when DOS was trouble free...
