Solved sfc /scannow can't fix corrupt files.

Too late, already ran it.

Have a Macrium image though...

No problems have shown up as a result of running it. :)

Yes, you could try the same solution to see if it may work for you as well.

Over there, the link to the SFCFix.zip file is down. Is that a custom file or can I find it somewhere else?
The SFCFix.zip is customized for his problem, not yours.

I would suggest first to run from admin command prompt: chkdsk /r C:
Reboot the PC and it will take a while to run, may be hours so you just have to br patient then try again:
  1. dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  2. sfc /scannow

Ill try that and report back. Though if it doesnt work I hope I can get a sweet person to build that custom fix for me :)

Edit: Did not work. I'm attaching the sfcdetails again.

The corrupted file in your CBS.log is actually a log file: MSDTC.log. Since it is corrupted and Microsoft-Windows-COM-DTC-Runtime cannot create a log into it hence it might cause intermittent freeze.

If my suggestion above did not fix the problem.
  1. From Folder Options, turn on the "Show hidden files" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Take ownership of the folder: C:\Windows\System32\MsDtc then delete MSDTC.log
  2. Reboot the PC and run sfc again.

NOTE: the MSDTC.log will be re-created again the next time Microsoft-Windows-COM-DTC-Runtime try to log to this file.

Oops posted the last one just before I saw yours.

So yeah, first solution didn't work. I'll try the second one and report back.

The problem is all related to Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC). Try to re-install MSDTC to see if it clears up, From Admin command prompt:
  1. msdtc -uninstall
  2. msdtc -install
  3. msdtc -resetlog

He wants you to join his forum.
He says he needs log files.
See here---

SFCFix.exe/zip - Sysnative Forums

David that was really awesome. Funny thing I had already created a thread there before knowing you'd help me. I just realized now it was the same forum, lol.

This was the first time someone has ever done such thing for me, very unexpected to see that kind of nice behavior in the internet ahah!

Again, thanks.

Yeah bro, you must sleep so well at night. Pretty inspiring. Keep up with that! :dinesh:

Actually I have a sleep disorder & usually sleep about 2 hours at a time.
I sit in my computer chair & take naps.
I feel better after a nap. :)
