I'am trying 8 hours now to install Windows 8 to an Acer Aspire 5920g.
Problem is that when the usb flash drive comes to hdd presenation point the hdd isnt being displayed.

My guess is that Sata AHCI/IDE controller driver for the 5920g's chipset is missing from Windows 8 installation dvd.

I googled very much and i can only find XP and Vista Sata Drivers while oi need 8's.

Is there an alternative plz? I must get 8 installed in that laptop.

When i make this procedure at the stage of unhiding drivers no drivers are being displayed in the list.

And even if they did it would still be uncompatible with that laptop's sata controller chipset.

i didnt understood in that artcile how it utilize them.

The problem is there arent any win8 drivers avialbe for sata for 5920g to try them during win8 setup.

You can download Intel F6 drivers from here:

Thanks you i already foudn those drivers and tried them several hjours ago but they are for XP and Vista and the Intel for 7 tops!
That will not work unfortunately.

An idea came to my mind.
I downlaoded and booted the Acer Aspire 5920g from a Vista Lite DVD rom which i burned.

Vista somehow identidies and utilized 5920g sata drivers correctly. The HDD can be shown form there with its partition and everything!

What i need now is a way to trick the Vista installation!
Removeing the Vista Media nad inserting the Win8 Media and continue from there!

That would definately work!

But how?
Can you help on this please?!

Can you give me the correct link please for my 5920g? i cant detect it through the wizard.....

Continuing my previous attempt.
Booted from Vista , presented the HDD and the rempoved the Vista USB Media and inserted the 8 USB Media
highlighted an unallocated partition and clicked next.

Copying of Windows 8 files has begun!!!!!

I hope they will work too!
layout
Its very weird seeing 8 trying to be copied to the hddd through a Vista Layout Scheme!

Do you think it will work?

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 and I have installed Windows 8 (64 bit and 32 bit) on it in the past. I didn't have that problem and didn't have to manually install the SATA driver during the install. I did the install from a USB thumb drive in both cases. I didn't have any problems deleting or creating partitions. There were some other drivers I had to hunt up but that was after Windows was installed. That laptop now has Windows 7 on it. Mine only had the Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset for graphics and I couldn't get it to calculate a WEI score without an error. I couldn't get the CIR to work either. Where did you get your Windows 8 install media from?

ON YOUR 1ST SCREENSHOT I CLICKED AT THE EXACT FILE.

At the 2nd screenshot i cant find these files you psot instead after clicking the st post;s url it gives me

f6flpy3289
and
f6flpy6489

Are these the same ones?
And if yes why they arent presented to me the same way as to you?

Maybe because you have 5920 model and not 5920g. Must have different chipsets.

Maybe? According to this page Acer Support: Aspire 5920G Series Specifications it has the same Mobile Intel® PM965 Express chip-set mine has. Everything else looks about the same too. I'm not sure what the G specification means? Sorry I can't offer more help, I just found it odd that mine didn't need any extra drivers to do the initial install. Windows 7 installed just fine too, from a USB thumb drive. Does you hard drive show up in the BIOS correctly?

Yes it does, now i di the following installed vista then rebooted started with safe mode from command prompt and then form the cmd i gave setup to initiate a win8 setup.

It went 1.000.000 hours copying files reboot and then poped an error.

Then i decided to Boot from Win8 USB and it presented the hdd fine but when i told it to install to unallcoated space it didn t ask me that it needed to have 2 partition like system prserver and 8 and keep installing.

How did it do that? in my lenovo it tells me it need to partitions.

What the hell is happenign here?

How did it find the drivers npow which it couldnt before?

I don't know. When I did my first Windows 7 install I deleted all partitions, including the restore partition, and created new ones. Windows 7 automatically created the 100 Mb system reserved. When I did my Windows 8 installs I deleted the system reserved partition and the OS partition, and left my DATA partition alone. Windows 8 always created a 350 Mb system reserved partition along with the OS partition. I always launched the install by booting from the thumb drive and not running it from the currently installed OS.

I see.
I managed to install it finally!

Key is to install Vista reboot, started "Safe Mode with CMD" and then initiated setup form usb stick

Because Vista was booted in safe mode the hdd was presented fine but it didn't allow me to partition change.
Then 8 was fianlly installed.

But...
