Windows8 gives the following problem on start up ......well what's new?
after a short while a Windows warning shield advises "Server Busy" with the following useless information, This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose switch to activate the busy program and correct the problem.
Poor fool me did as the warning shield asked only to be confronted by that magnificently designed Windows start menu that I paid $5 AUD to get rid of and of course there was no program running.
A quick look at task manager showed something interesting. Somehow Samsung Kies had started a tray icon program without being requested to and which does not show up in the tray icon customisation area either which is making some kind of system call. If you end the task the problem goes away, at least for the present.
There have been three updates on the computer that may be responsible one by Microsoft for a driver, one by Nvidia graphics and the final one by Sun Microsystems for java. The problem has only presented itself since these updates and as they were all done in the one session it is not possible for a mere mortal such as myself to pinpoint the exact piece of wizardry responsible.
For those responsible I have taken a few screen shots so they can sit there and laugh and say we gotcha! and for their entertainment are attached.
Anyone in Wizard class is invited to advise me how to get rid of this pain with the least work possible.
