Hi there,
I am having a problem with my PC (windows 8) so I have to take 'RESET YOUR PC OPTION' I followed the steps until it gets me to please wait for 4 hours now and haven't given me any options yet. Is that please wait screen for preparation or it is started to do the deleting operation as I have other drives partitions I did not back up them. So what I shall do as I started to get worried. Thanks in advance

Hello hnnessam, and welcome to Eight Forums. :)

If the hard drive activity light is still blinking, then it would be best to let it sit until finished,

Hello;
Thanks for your replying. Actually the case is that my laptop does not show anything. It has only two still lights they are the power and the battery. My laptop brand is Acer. So what shall I do in that case? As it hasn't given the options whether to delete all drives or only the drive where the OS is located.
Thank you again.

You could try doing a hard restart if you like.

Usually, it may pick up where it left off after restarting, or will fail and revert back to where you were before starting.

Thank you for your rapid response. Here I did the hard restart as you told me and started again to reset my PC but it is much slower. I can see a black screen but I can move the mouse. Shall I turn it off and try it some time later?
Thank you again

It would depend on if you have any hard drive activity or not.

If so, it's best to wait to see if it may finish without risking corruption.

Thanks again for following up. I shall wait but if nothing works. What shall I do this time? The whole issue started when I did windows update and my laptop came with windows 8. And what is available is windows 8.1. My laptop is Acer v5 571G.
Thanks again

If it should stall out with no hard drive activity, you could try doing a hard restart again.
