removing computer from PC workgroup
Hello, again,
Did a search for "Samba" (which is all greek to me) on both iMacs and the Windows 8.1 PC....and it is not on any of them......so obviously it does not come into play here so I guess I am back to square one with the original posted problem......no connection from the Windows machine back to the second Mac, "Nancys-iMac". Like I said, they all are talking nicely with one another with this being the lone exception.....and that is what I have been trying to accomplish. When I originally set this all up, I discovered that both my iMacs had the same name, but only after I connected the first iMac by entering the user name and password and it connected immediately......however, when I tried connecting the wife's iMac, that is when I kept getting the ""you do not have permission to use this network" error message.........So in retrospect, I guess I should have connected her computer first and then tried connecting mine second.....because hers is the one with the files she wants to share........Like they say, hindsight is always 20/20.....So I naturally thought I could just simply reverse this procedure by deleting the first iMac out of the PC Workgroup, leaving only the second one there with the files and it would then connect.....NOT!!!!!! and that, my friend is what brought me to this forum......
Thanks so much for trying to help this old hard headed Missourian, though. I really appreciate your input.
