registry editor is editing nothing

hello
about a month ago i asked here how to change font color in windows boarder and the solution for my problem was editing some registry key which i did but didn't solve any thing
today i was trying to change the system font by editing the key "MS Shell Dlg" and "MS Shell Dlg 2"
i tried many fonts but none of them worked *i restarted the PC of course*
the only thing that changed was the font of text in registry editor text box as you can see here

i'm afraid there is a problem with the windows version i'm using *OEM laptop came with windows 8 preinstalled*

That would not stop the edit. Most likely it is due to if you have OneDrive set to save profile and settings. That can cause the changes to go back.
