Re-install the driver vR2.75:
(click on 'I accept' and 'Next')

Realtek

When I install the new driver, everything seems to go well, until I check the date of my driver in device manager, and it still shows the driver from August 2013.

I see this as the driver version: 6.3.9600.16384

The new driver first uninstalls the existing driver and then has you reboot the PC, and then installs the new driver.

Check the Device Manager first before you try installing the new R2.75 version again. In the sound section you should only have RealTek HD Audio and an AMD Radeon HDMI Audio (for HDMI audio) and nothing else. IF you have more than these two, uninstall those in the device manager first and then run the RealTek installer (which as noted uninstalls the existing first).
