Do you have that core version of windows 8? I want to make a flash drive just with that on it in case my hard drive dies while I'm at school. I may even put an sshd in it, not sure yet.

And we were able to find a download link. It was never posted, but I remember downloading it, I can't seem to find it right now. Ok, found it. It's 4 GB, so I don't know exactly how I could get it to you. I used to have a private p2p program but I don't have it installed anymore.

If you want the 64 bit version, you can search for the name in googol and see if any download links come up.

Thanks. I am going to make one or two dedicated usb drives to install windows. This is a big help. I also want to run backtrack. Anything I should know about that? I read some samsung laptops became bricked after running linux.

EDIT: It just crashed again. Call me stupid but I think realtemp may be causing it. I am going to not run realtemp at all and see what happens. It could also be how I have my processor power management setup.

What's Realtemp - It reads the sensor? I use AIDA64 for temps, I've never had it cause any blue screens.

EDIT: Just started using aida 64 and a few questions. It is saying that my temp on my processor is 95c when under a stress test but speedfan is saying that it is about 80c. It also only stays at base clock of 1.6ghz and will not overclock to the 2.3 mark. When it reaches may temp on aida64 of 98c it says that cpu throttling has been enabled. I can't control my fan through speedfan but it doesn't seem to be working much, so I am wondering if the sensors in aida64 are being read correctly compared to speedfan because there is roughly a 15c difference.

CPU speeds change especially if you use something like CoolAndQuiet for AMD CPUs. If you wanna see the actual speed of the processor in realtime, you have to add the Aida Desktop Gadget, which shows all the temps and speeds and Utilizations as their present conditions. Since these things fluctuate all the time, you have to hit "View/Refresh" while having the AIDA panel open. My CPU goes between 1800 to 2300. If you open the "Overclock" panel it will show the speed changing in real time.

You could put up an OSD for each value you want to monitor, you just have to tell it not to be "On Top". The settings for this stuff is all in Preferences.

After I restarted the computer it reads the correct cpu speed and it maxes pot around 76c. For some reason the fab wasn't kicking it in high gear before. Now just to figure out this media creation.
