Solved Problems with windows fax and scan

I'm having some difficulty getting this to work properly. I've got the phone connected to my internal modem okay, and I know it's working, because I was able to manually receive a fax. But whenever I try to send one, 2 windows quickly flash by, then it errors out saying "The message could not be sent. The wait operation timed out." This happens rather quickly, so I'm not sure anything is really timing out. I've tried a short text message with and without a cover page, and with and without an attachment.

This is a dual-boot system with XP, and the fax function works fine in XP.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Try using some third party software for that ? I haven't done that for a while and don't know which one works for new OSs.

Actually, after messing around with it a while, I discovered that I had a problem due to requesting it send an email confirmation to me. Once I removed that selection, the fax seemed to send without error.
