2 months ago my DSL modem died and it took 3 days before frontier could show up. turned out it was the DSL cable running from the modem to the PC. the modem's DSL and internet lights where on, indicating I was online even though the PC showed that I was not. any attempt to click in the email or internet E resulted in a big message on the screen saying I was not online. but I was still able to do everything that needed me to be online to do.
on one occasion when a lady friend and I were going through a catalog we had downloaded 30 minutes earlier, the webcam came on. I am constantly getting calls from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, but I was told right there on this website last year that Microsoft does not call people. yet these people seem to know when i'm having minor trouble, even telling me that they need access to the PC to help with the "problem". again another issue I ask about here and was told I should never let anybody have remote access to my PC.
and the original hard drive died. it was found to have been caused by a buildup of thousands of administrative events. well I just checked, and the number has increased to 72,812 events with most showing red error with a few dozen red critical. meaning this hard drive is soon to 100% fail as well, just don't know how long. now as for things like Microsoft software, one of the things that always shows up is a calendar software called vueminder pro. with me being disabled I needed a calendar that was designed with more down to the minute settings just like found in XP using audio and visual alarms to alert me when to take what meds when, doctor appointments and which doctor, and so on. so important is this that I had to buy it off the internet and did.
i'm now checking to see if is capable od running off of a USB hard drive instead of the PC hard drive. but it's been checked before and was told it could not be destructive to any PC components. so yes it would make sense to not be online for certain activities. nd I have no diea what your
