Hi all,

I must be brain dead, as I can not find any later drivers that the installed ones.
A little help there?

I was able to change drive E: back to NTFS from FAT32, no problem.
It is fine and works great in Win 8 64 OS.

Had already installed J-Micron.

Thanx for the help so far!!

What be next?

Take care...........

Hi bud,

I had been, before your reply, to the Asus site and downloaded every driver for my X58.
Either they were updated, or got error message:
"Does not support this Operating System: WNT_6.2P_64_MCE.

Still, to no avail.

I guess I will live with the one player.

Take care, and thanks to all for the assistance............

Install using device manager. Right click on the specific storage to update, Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse...

Find and double click on the .inf file. Click next, click ok and it will install.

Reboot when done. Do for both of the motherboard ones I've shown.

Also do the same for the Marvell if it doesn't show as Marvell in the Device Manager yet.

So did you tell is yes so it installs?

If you didn't change anything from last I've seen, then you're still not using the proprietary driver(s).

I really don't think it would even say anything about older or newer if you double click on the inf file itself.

The goal is to get them to use iaStor.sys, jmcr.sys and mv64xx.sys instead of all using pciide.sys.

Hi GMan,

Here is the latest .zip of msinfo32 from Win 8 64.

The drivers installed, so they should be updated.

Still no second blu-ray player tho.

Take care..........

Still don't have iaStor.sys installed for Intel, and very old 2009 driver installed for Marvell, but excellent job with the J-Micron from the link I posted.

My concern at the moment has nothing to do with the BluRay drive at all. I'm helping you make the system well and when that's all said and done, then we can begin to figure out why the drive is missing.

Please post new msinfo32 after the iaStor.sys is being used for the Intel SATAs above. Also, install "Marvell 91XX Controller Beta Driver V1.2.0.1002 for Windows 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit" from here: ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS SABERTOOTH X58 <<<< so it has 2011 driver instead of 2009.

I doubt it very much because it is showing pciide.sys for the Intel ones - but it might be worth checking in the device manager for their properties to see which driver it shows as being used. If iaStor.sys is shown there, then it is installed.

Hi again,
Need to start over, as after getting the new Marvell driver install, I was installing the iaStor driver and got a blue screen in Windows 8.
I can not get into it now, so I must use my backup from last night, and then do Marvell and iaStor install again.
It will take some time, so will update in the morn.
God, I love computers.
Take care.......

Hi GMan,

OK, the JMicron and Marvell drivers installed flawlessly, but again the iaStor driver blue screened my system.

I am not going to blue screen it again, with another attempt, so, let's move on.

Hi all,

OK, here is the skinny:
Three times I tried to install the iaStor driver and three times it blue screened and I had to spend 5 hours each restore.
I am done with updating the drivers.

Anyone want to tackle my blu-ray player missing issue with me?

Take care.........
