No boot with USB

I've recently swapped PCs for my everyday use.
My old PC, an HP Slimline would boot up from a USB Flash drive, or even a SD Memory Card. No problems.

But, my new PC, an Acer X-1200 will not boot from anything but the hard drive or CD drive. When I try to boot up with a Flash Drive, I get a message telling me "No bootable media found" (or some such).
I've tried one FD that boots into a Windows shell, and one that Boot into DOS, , , no difference. I've even tried using different USB ports, , , no difference.

In the BIOS, I've given the PC permission to boot from "Removable Media". Have I missed something?

The only program that I run where I need to boot up with some 'Removable Media' is my backup program, "Ghost". And I can easily run it from a CD, it's just that using a Flash Drive is quicker and easier.

Just for the record, , , I use my USB ports every day, so I know they work.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I found several fixes on the web, but they all involved Windows, and I knew the problem was in the BIOS, not Windows.

So, I went back in to the BIOS, and started poking around.
I finally found a very well hidden place where I could specify what type of removable drive I wanted to boot from.
It's pretty specific, so I wound up setting it so it would boot up from my DOS-Boot "Ghost" Flash Drive. The FD is formatted as Fat32 and then Ghost and several other DOS utilities were manually added.
Finally, after several hours, and many boot attempts, I was able to boot up my little PC from my DOS-boot FD and run Ghost.
The only drawback left was that my USB WiFi Mouse did not work.
So I found my old PS2 mouse and plugged it in to the PS2-Mouse port on the back of the PC and VOILA, now I have a mouse in Ghost.
I can run the program from the keyboard, but it's so much handier to use a mouse.

So, I guess I can call this topic, "Solved"
