I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C55-A and it's been running really smoothly until now. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how I could speed it up a little bit? And if someone could tell me which programs to uninstall. Thanks a lot.
The 64 bit installs require both 32-bit & 64-bit for Java. But if the OP is not running any programs, or going to any sites that require Java, it can probably be deleted.I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C55-A and it's been running really smoothly until now. I would remove:
BitTorrent
& Microsoft Office{unless it was paid for}.
Not exactly, not all of them. some require service/s to run all the time, using memory and processor time. When deciding which programs are or have resident status it's best to check with "Task Manager" to see what's going on there, if it is taking some memory, processor etc. Checking and disabling some of the Startup items that are not needed on continuous basis is also good idea. After using APPs, make sure they are completely closed.Think of the programs you are seeing, as books sitting on the shelves in a library. All they are doing are taking up space. Only if you are actually running programs, then you may run into an issue that if you do not have enough RAM, you could see the computer slowing down.
