I'm pretty frustrated right now, so I'll just list out what happened and see if anyone can help.
- Got a new laptop not too long ago (5 hours?). Samsung Series 5 535U3C
- Started it up; everything is cool. Boots right into Windows 8 setup and everything is fine
- Shortly afterwards, I go right into checking Windows Updates (as I usually do when I get a new computer). Checking for updates goes for 30 minutes and still nothing happens... I find this extremely odd. I see that the laptop is loud and HOT; VERY unlike it's "ultrabook" facade. I decide to restart the system.
- I restart the system, try to find updates again. I see 61. I start installing them and get stuck at 0% for... Ever. It does not move. I check Task Manager and see "Windows Modules Installer Worker" taking up 20-70% of my CPU for seemingly no reason; which explains as to why the laptop is so damn hot and loud. I end the process; it comes back again.
- I decide to just abandon that installation and I take the OS and tell it to restore to factory settings and reinstall Windows 8
- I go through the setup again; smooth sailing
- Guess whose back? Windows Modules Installer Worker. Not welcome.
- Guess what happens? Still cant install updates.
- And my multitouch touchpad no longer works... A minor issue but... What the hell?
Any fixes for an extremely moody laptop?
Edit: My screen brightness doesnt work either. The hotkeys doesnt work and going to the sidebar to change the brightness yields no change.
