Hello! I have a couple questions for someone that would be able to assist. Please bare with me. I am not much of a computer technical person, but i am sure someone who is can help.
I am starting a new work from home position on monday, and the requirements are that i have to have a hard wired connection using a ethernet cable. I have a desk top computer in the living room, which is where the router is, and wireless service through verizon fios.
I would like to work from my laptop, in another part of my home. My question is do i have to establish a second internet connection, buy an additional router and ethernet cable to use? Or can i just purchase a router and ethernet cable, without establishing a second connection, and work off the internet already established in the home?
I also saw on another forum, someone mentioned a wireless bridge that will connect to my wireless and plugged in with a cat6 cable to my laptops lan port. Would that be another option for me? When you hard wire in a home with an established wireless service, do you have to temporarily disable your wireless service?
Any additional fixes i did not mention would be greatly appreciated. Really don't want my computer issues to be the reason of my absence from training on monday, AND I AM REALLY STUCK.
Thanks in advance!
