mysterious password required in task scheduler

Somehow, a mysterious requirement for a password crops up near the finish line of my abortive attempt to use task scheduler (windows 8.1). I never created one, and cant come up with one that works. Accordingly, I am helpless, and seem to be abandoned by Microsoft. I cant get any useful help by any means i know of. Without the PW, task scheduler is useless. I note that TS is not covered in the usually-reliable Windows For Dummies bible. Can anyone help?

Have you tried your "login" password?

Dont know which login password. Do you mean my Microsoft login?

Have malwared several times = no change.

Yeah, Chuck . . . the password you use to log in when Windows first boots.

Thanks!! It worked. I thought that I had tried that one first, but must not have. I have so many PWs that it is hard to keep them straight. BTW, do you know Task Scheduler? I am having a lot of trouble getting it to schedule.
