edit:
i found out that my desktop windows 8.1 lost 5ghz signal
-.-
i tested other computer and smartphones and they can detect 5ghz wifi

Give this a try:

Press [Windows Key] + [X] and select Command Prompt (Admin).
At the command prompt type: netsh winsock reset catalog and press [Enter].
Next type: netsh int ip reset reset.log and press [Enter].
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Well that just sucks. You're sure you have the latest drivers for the USB adapter and all the settings for it are correct?

What is strange is when I go to their site, no drivers listed.

Edit: How does it show up in Device Manager?

yeaaa

When you go to Device Manager and select update drive, browse computer, then choose from a list do any other driver choices show up?
