IF the drive is truly "broken", that means it's damaged physically and will NOT work!the drive may be broken
If you are able to use the PC with the drive in it, then it is NOT "broken".
As I already mentioned, in the case where the drive is physically damaged, only repair and rebuilding will get the drive working again -- and the usual warranty covers manufacturing defects, not the physical damage you have mentioned.
