Microsoft's SkyDrive stumbles, becomes latest glitchy...

IDG News Service - Another day, another cloud app gets stung by a bug. Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage service began malfunctioning on Tuesday afternoon, a day after Google's Gmail got tripped by a network breakdown.

"SkyDrive is having problems accessing and modifying files. You might not be able to view, change, upload, or delete files," read an alert on the Live Status site, where Microsoft displays the current availability of several consumer online services.

Well it's working right now, but it's been glitchy as hell last week. I've spent hours between Microsoft's tech support, and SkyDrive's support forum trying to get my issue sorted - files can't be uploaded - Microsoft Community

My issue is my Office 365 files wouldn't upload. Turning off (un-ticking) the "Use Office to sync files faster" option seems to have solved the problem, but I still suspect it's a server issue. I think the darn thing gets overwhelmed, thus the suggestion to turn off fast sync.

Anyway I post this here in case others are having "upload" problems.

Don't bother with Microsoft's tech support... their answer, after calling 3 times, is to use the on-line SkyDrive support system since "we don't officially support SkyDrive". Even though it's part of Office 365 Premium or University editions.

Welcome Hippsie,

Spent days trying to solve the issue and that one tick box solved it all. Haven't had a problem since

I see said the blind carpenter as he picked up his saw and went. :)

Thanks for answering. You also get an A+ for your persistence.

Have you checked the box since Ms said they fixed it just to see if it works now?

I recently obtained and installed a copy of Office Pro 2013. In the process of learning it. I had Office Pro 2000. This is all on Windows 8 Pro with SkyDrive and app, of course, of which I'm also learning.

So, that option is saying you can work on a file with another person or persons at the same time? That they can edit an Office file simultaneously? If so, I never knew that was possible.

OK ! if the trouble has been sorted out then what does go in giving it another try .. i was using it for a while before the app got the lag which now has been corrected
