I have a Gigabyte S1080 running Win 8 and when I tried to connect the Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth Keyboard it will Discover the device but when I attempt to connect it just fails.

I had purchased a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard a couple months back and that one did the same thing

Can anyone suggest something that might help?

I have an S1080, but I use a USB keyboard that's part of the case (not that that's of any use to your question). That said, I ran a number of Bluetooth devices without any issue, but not a keyboard. Have you gone into the devices menu and done a device discovery and installation procedure? Or type in Bluetooth and select the add device procedure.

My system will Discover the Wedge keyboard but when I select Connect it always fails. Nothing comes up asking for a code to enter that you see when Bluetooth looks to do a secure Bluetooth connect.

I've removed Windows 8 from my tablet, so I can't look at what I did. I'll try and see if I can work out what I did.

OK, I just went through the process of adding a Nokia LD-3W Bluetooth GPS receiver to my desktop. There is no longer a 'My Bluetooth' icon in the Control Panel, so you can't add a device that way. Also, when you type 'Bluetooth' in the apps page, all you get is the Bluetooth transfer wizard, hardly useful if you haven't yet installed a device.

The solution I found was to go into the desktop, where you can see the Bluetooth icon on the right in the taskbar. If you can't see the icon, go to Control Panel/Notification Area Icons and enable Bluetooth. Once this is done, right click the Bluetooth icon and select 'add a Bluetooth Device'. This will take you to the Windows 8 PC settings, where it'll automatically scan for devices and then you can select the device and the screen will ask for the pin code.

Hope this works for you.

That was the trick as they say >>>> !!

I had been going to My Bluetooth but as soon as I used the Icon I was able to add the device because as you say it went to the Windows 8 PC settings and then when I went to the keyboard I was finally able to see a passkey and I was good to go.

Thank you very much !!
