So in July I'm going to be buying a new laptop to upgrade from my 2009 Dell. I know there's lots of people here who know a lot more about PCs than I do. So I'm looking for some advice. if i were you, from this choice i would take the acer because it has an additional videocard.
but i should build my own at bto or ava direct because you can customize your needs there

I'd choose either the Sony laptops or the Acer one, because those have dedicated mobile graphics cards which are preferable for gaming. The 14 inch Sony is my pick.

I've got the Acer v5-571G, which is a little bit thinner then the V3 you're looking at. I love it.
However it looks like your V3 has a 630m which is a better graphics chip then my V5's 620m

Actually, looking at pictures the V3-571G is drastically different than the V5-571G. I don't know how much of my experience would apply to the V3.

I'd choose either one of the Sony laptops because of the dedicated graphics.

We are on our third Toshiba laptop. The first Toshiba we bought 4 years ago has been sat on the kitchen side for three of those four years , its never turned off has been covered in all sorts of nasty stuff and never misses a beat.

We only upgraded from the last one (the second) because i needed more power for photo/video editing. Toshiba's are bullet proof :)
