Hey, Brink -- Let me tag along here because I've got similar problems -- that is, pretty severely but only occasionally and unpredictably malfunctioning Synaptics trackpad/mouse-arrow on my brand new Acer. The live-chat feller at the Acer support site suggested that I entirely disable the tap-to-click function on the trackpad; and yeah, I can do that, but I really like tap-to-click, and I've gotten accustomed to using tap-to-click on a number of other PCs. Anyway, is it your considered, experienced opinion that if I tried installing more recent trackpad drivers from Synaptics -- the newest drivers are tagged with a slightly higher number, and are dated just a few months more recent than my current drivers -- and even though Acer's "Live Update" makes no such suggestion -- it would be safe, would at least do no harm?
