Latest Greatest DVD Backup trend Software?

Hey Guys, quick question to any movie enthusiast.. Whats the latest and greatest DVD backup for keeping my DVD collection on my external hard drives??

Is the Handbrake program the best way to take my DVD collection to my computer?

I have converted my entire DVD movie collection to digital format by "ripping" them and then converting them to formats that will store easily on and external drive .
