Solved Laptop won't connect to internet after installing Windows8

Howdy folks,

I made a silly error recently.

On my lenovo yoga flex 15 laptop, I was trying to download microsoft office. At the time I was working on a project, and didn't notice that I clicked on download windows 8 instead of microsoft office. So my computer installed another copy of windows 8, and would only access that version of windows 8. Meaning, I was left with a fresh restart with no files, and I also couldn't connect to the internet. At the time I still had a windows.old folder with all of my files from my computer's other version of windows 8.

So I tried doing a reset to factor settings, and I'm still having the same issue where I can't connect to the internet. In particular I can't connect via my wifi device. In fact my wifi device doesn't show up at all, instead the Bluetooth device shows up in it's place. And in my device manager, it shows bluetooth device as my wifi device. I also don't see the bars in the bottom right hand corner, I just see a button with a monitor and ethernet cable that when I click on it, it opens up a tab that says "Networks" and "No Connections are avaliable. Troubleshoot". Of course I tried the basic trouble shoot and it asked me to plug in an ethernet cable, of which I do not have.

Any advice?

Is there any more information I can give?

Okay, I filled in the PC specifications that I could find the answer to from the System Information Summary.

If the case is of the missing drivers, where might I find those?

Hmm.. I tried downloading the wireless drivers and the bluetooth and neither fixed the issue.

Strange. Any other suggestions?

That's impossible, you must be doing something wrong.

Press Windows key + R
Type msinfo32 and hit enter
Click on File > Save to save system information into a file.

zip up saved system information and attach the file here.
 
I sure hope it's some sort of operator error.

The WLAN Drivers (Atheros, Realtek, Broadcom) gives the message: "Sorry ! We do not support this operation system !!".

But The Intel WLAN Driver should be working fine. I just used the repair tool on it and it went through, but nothing has changed.

So is my best bet to download Windows 8.1, and then reapply the drivers that you previously showed me?
 
Although I have a copy of Windows 8.1 available, I am running into other issues. After I type in the product key, it wants to access the internet to confirm it in some manner. Which of course... I cannot do. My computer does not have an Ethernet port. My cousin thinks my only option is to get or find a usb wireless adapter so that I can access the internet to get windows 8.1 running so that I can download the driver that you sent me to.

In the meantime, any thoughts on the matter, or suggestions?

your laptop already has network adapter (wireless), once windows is installed all you need to do is install original wireless adapter driver and connect to wireless network.

so what's the problem?
 
The issue is that I can't download my Windows 8.1 right now, I'm stuck with 8.0 atm. When I try do download my copy of 8.1, it asks me to enter the product key. Upon entering the product key it gives the message, "We can't connect right now - Check your internet connection and try again."

I have no clue what your problem is seriously :drool:

1. From which website are you downloading Windows 8.1?
2. Why download does not work?
3. what Windows activation has to do with download process?
4. why do you persist to input the key?

Forget about the key for windows, get the image and make a clean install.
download drivers by using a PC with working internet and install the drivers.
only when the above 2 is done you can start thinking about activation, not before.
