I recently screwed put my windows and had to go back to my original OS with nothing on it. Now java isn't working I have uninstalled and installed again multiple times. the java control center wont open neither will any java application.
Hello SdSquid, Check your anti-virus settings to make sure that it is not blocking the Java(TM) SE Binary files. Kaspersky AV is known to do this kind of issue, it may be the same with your AV. Hope I have helped you

In that case open the Control Panel and click on Windows Update then on the left hand side of the window click on "View update History" and post a pic of it here.
I'm not seeing anything that could have caused an issue with Java, have you tried installing the 64-bit version?
Before proceeding to download the 64-bit run this tool to see if there is an old version java that didn't get removed which could just be causing your issue.
Hope your issue gets resolved soon. If not, just reply saying that this didn't work and just wait for someone who is more experienced to see what they have to say on the matter.
I've installed 64 bit before I couldn't see anything with java problems I turned of my antivirus and restarted multiple times the thing is this isn' just java I just discovered its with every thing I updated recently which java update 40 was one of them.
I've never seen or stumbled upon an error where Windows was seeing your CPU as 32-bit rather than 64-bit..weird. Well, at least now java is fully functional
