Intermittent wifi fault

I have a wifi connection at home running my laptop, 2 other laptops and numerous phones. They all work perfectly except my laptop. The connection is set to automatically connect. When I close my laptop, sleep, or turn it off it never reconnects automatically when I turn it on again. It will not reconnect if I try to connect manually. I have to go thru all sorts of methods, reset network adapter, forget the connection and reconfigure it or just keep on connecting manually until it randomly connects again. There is no set procedure that works every time.

I have no trouble connecting to any other wifi with this laptop. All other devices connect first time every time to this wifi connection.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Nothing comes to mind except the tried and true trick of deleting the driver for the device in Device Manager. Then reboot. Windows will install the same driver. I'm not sure why this works. But it seems to have a good success rate in these types of situations.

Thanks Miles, I did what you suggested thru device manager by going to device manager, selecting 1 of the network adapters, properties, driver, uninstall. Then restarted, the adapter was enabled again automatically. Connection fault not fixed. Did the same thing with the other network adapter, no result.

Then repeated the exercise and ticked delete driver as well. Now a restart is not reinstalling the network adapter. So no WiFi at all. I am now connected by Ethernet cable.

Add device is not finding the network adapter.

No idea what to do next. Thanks again for your help.
