Thought I would share this with all you good folks (hopefully good).
The other day I went and purchased a new SanDisk 240 gig SSD to install in my desktop for use with the new Win 8 OS. Having a Sandisk 240 gig already in the machine I had decided to put that one in my HP dv7 laptop.
To make a long story short I removed the old HDD from the laptop and installed the 6 month old Sandisk (had yet to remove the OS from the desktop) into the laptop. Closed everything up and fired it up; now I trully was surprised when the laptop booted into Win 7 from the newly installed (older) SSD. What????? Yes it booted right into the OS without even thinking about it, and as soon as the system booted up it went and found all the drivers it need automatically. . .
Go Figure...
BTW I have attempted several times over the years to do this; and this is a first for me.
